As part of the Year 10 Childcare curriculum, classes learnt about the Indigenous culture, child rearing practices, family types and impacts of the Stolen Generation. Students were invited to the Aboriginal Education Centre, by Ms Kymberley Oakley where she taught the class about the many aspects of her culture. After this, the students were asked to design their own hand-print which would represent Reconciliation at La Salle College. After a few lessons painting, the final piece was completed. After much deliberation the classes decided that the painting will be hung on the common wall between the Childcare class and the Aboriginal Education centre to represent how we come together as one.
