19 of March the Year 11 ATAR Biology class attended an
excursion at the Perth Hills Discovery Centre in Mundaring. The students were fortunate to see real life species, learning about monitoring techniques and even setting traps and collecting data from captured fauna.
During their bush
walk they learnt about the adaptations of native flora and the work
that Western Shields do to minimise feral species and promote conservation of
native species. The main highlight of the day was coming face to face with some 'locals' in the animal encounter.
