Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 (3/14) (using the
US date system) around the world. Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in
mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a
circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159.
During Pastoral Care
Group the students were given a Pi activity to complete. The winning PCG wins a circular pizza!
Solomon 6, Ms Stafford’s Pastoral Care Group for winning the competition with
all correct answers.
A morning tea was also provided by the Mathematics Department for staff with Pi related savoury and sweets to enjoy.
