Year 10 Childcare and Fashion Technology classes were fortunate to have a visit
from local fashion stylist, Class of 2008 graduate, Emily Howlett last month.
to graduating in 2008, Emily initially thought fashion was just designing and
sewing, however, through her discussions with the then College Career Advisor, Ms
Nicole Huggins and in pursuing her career aspirations in the fashion industry,
she soon realised that a fashion stylist was more towards her creative talent.
shared her achievements in styling advertisement campaigns for Betts and
Tourism Australia and the highlight of her career, styling the Chanel show in
Perth and working with Jennifer Hawkins and our 2014 Hall of Excellence
inductee and Class of 2001, Jessica Gomes. Emily also discussed the training,
work experience and personal skills required in the industry as well as
highlighting some of the challenges it entails.
the session, Brittney Morris was fortunate to be the model for one of the gowns
designed by Steph Audino.
speaks very highly of the College and in particular one staff member, Ms
Natalie Calleja who said to her “you can achieve anything that you set your
mind to.” This was certainly achieved by Emily.
The Class of 2008 will be holding their 10 Year Reunion on 13
October 2018 in the Vaudeville Room at the Guildford Hotel. For more
