AFL Indigenous Round Guernsey Designer - Kevin Bynder

La Salle College Aboriginal Teacher Assistant and WA Artist, Mr Kevin Bynder’s artistic flair and design have earned him the privilege of being the chosen designer for both the West Coast Eagles and Port Adelaide for the Indigenous Football Rounds.

Kevin, a Whadjuk-Yuet-Balaadong man from his mother and a Badamia Yamatji from his father has been an artist for 17 years and has also had his design chosen in 2016 for the Western Australia’s Men’s and Women’s State Aboriginal teams for the National Indigenous Cricket Championships.

The 2018 AFL Sir Douglas Nicholls Indigenous Round Guernsey’s were designed in conjunction with the club’s each unique culture and history.

Made more special for Kevin is the collaboration design with his nephew, Port Adelaide Football Club ruckman, Paddy Ryder.

The West Coast Eagles Guernsey will be worn in Round 11 against St Kilda and Round 16 against GWS Giants.  Port Adelaide Guernsey will be worn in Round 11 against Hawthorn and Round 12 against Richmond.

Kevin has been an invited guest for the Port Adelaide game on Thursday 7 June and also will be presenting the Guernsey’s at the Port Adelaide Youth Football Competition.

Kevin has also been invited to the Eagles vs St Kilda Indigenous Round this Saturday, June 2 and will be visiting the team prior to the game.

Kevin’s artwork will be displayed throughout the game on the large screens.
