The Year 11 Children, Family and Community class have been working on a project, making care packages for children who are cared for by grandparents. through WANSLEA Family and Children Services.
Sue Baile from WANSLEA visited Ms Kelly Johnson’s Year 11 Class and was delighted to see what these students had created. Each one prepared a box filled with activities that would interest young minds. These boxes were then taken to Indigenous grand families in Narrogin.
WANSLEA's Grandcare Program recognises that grandparents have a huge task when raising their grandchildren and can become isolated in the process. This program enables them to provide support, build a community through acceptance, form friendships and acknowledge that grandparents play an important role in raising their grandchildren.
