A group of enthusiastic bakers set their talents to the taste buds, having a bake sale for a very worthy cause, Little Things for Tiny Tots. On Thursday 20 July, Year 12 students studying Family, Children and Community raised money to provide care packages for babies in need. Part of their course component requires them to assist within the community. Funds raised went towards purchasing products to help families provide for their babies.
Little Things for Tiny Tots is an organisation founded in 2015 by mothers who believed that each baby deserves equal access to goods and services and thus began creating New Baby Boxes. A team of dedicated volunteers gives their time generously to support new mothers, women suffering domestic violence, homeless women, foster parents and refugee families. New Baby Boxes contain nappies, wipes, nappy rash creams, clothing, blankets, books and toys.
The bake sale had a variety of tantalising sweet delights such as Ms Johnson’s famous Christmas choc mint fudge, lemon slices and banana bread. Gluten free treats were also available.
The Christian spirit of touching hearts through sharing and compassion was evident through this initiative.
